Thornton Action Group was formed in December 2001 by a group of Thornton residents in response to the concerns of the scale of housing developments and related issues such as traffic and drainage which are affecting our community. TAG is a group of people who give up their time freely for the benefit of Thornton.

The purpose of the Action Group is to:

Keep the residents of Thornton informed about proposals affecting their environment.
Seek the views of residents concerning these proposals.
Act as a channel of communication between the residents and the appropriate bodies involved in the proposals.

To undertake particular projects for the community that are not otherwise being provided for and to support the community projects of others.
